Something

You have that face That look Is there something you want to tell me? I know when you are pretending I know when your smile doesn't meet your eyes Maybe no one else will suspect a thing You always have the right thing to say But there is an underlying current I can feel it There is just something about a sad heart beating! Really I can take it Is there something you want to tell me? Just say it, don't worry about me breaking I feel the shift I am sure I am not mistaken You are not living anymore I see you skillfully going through the motions Disguising your sad with perfect clothes Holding onto small insignificant meanings Not like when your laughter was better than breathing I don't want you to be trapped by my forever Is there something you want to tell me? Is there someone whom you feel fully completes you? Does he understand you the way that I used to? I can't shake it This underlying feeling That you are just here and going through the motions Unwilling to share your true emotions I remember I was there When you were fully you Not half hearted and melancholy blue You moved with a perfect kinda easy grace That happy seems to have vanished without a trace Damn girl, you were so amazing I miss how we occupied our own special space Please, yes it is really okay I need to hear what you have to say Is there something you want to tell me? A definite 7+ and winner, Richard. You never cease to amaze me. This insight into to the woman's lost love is told beautifully and a bit sad. Clever to use the line "Is there something you want to tell me?" to tie it all together". Thank you.

I can hear the concern loud & clear, sometimes we must realize a persons depression or reason for being blue is [not so simply] their own self? And as folks who care for them we really can not do anything. Light & Love

I agree wholeheartedly, Richard. I would pale at standing on a stage and acting but I was always comfortable standing up and playing trumpet for people. Writing is that way. We can put on a different face or look deep within someone else and imagine what they may be about.

Hi Rick, Sometimes the teller can't bring themselves to say what they want to say, but uses that silence to transmit impending bad/sad news so as to reduce the impact when it does come out. You have portrayed the fear yet longing to know the truth in this write so vividly. Take care, Richard
