Someone Once
Silver shone in your eyes
As you handed me over
To the darkness I once ran from
The shadows of loneliness
The gold, the silver, the bronze
In our possession but I fell over
Into the blackness of dark waters.
The waves of security swarmed over me
I looked at your face through the waters
Expecting my Superman
But you turned the boat
And rowed away into space
The swordfish pierced through my heart
The Octopus stung with its venom
The Croc tore me from limb to limb
Leaving a portion of me dinner for Sharks
The gold, the silver and the bronze
Your utmost priority
Not a tear was shed or muscle moved
As I vanished into the air of nothingness
The Devil found me
And taught me his ways
To be unreceptive to the pains of love
And the gift of a frozen heart
I awaken in my room at dawn
I get off the bed to peer into the mirror
I see a new person
Nobody.
