Notes About The Poem

*** This is the 1st poem I entered on Poetry Soup. The date was August 14, 2018. I do love this poem and always will, in a way it's a tribute to my soul. Poetry Soup is awesome... I feel SO fortunate to have found a community of poets where I feel I belong. Home at last.

Someone Like You

I want someone who likes that
  I talk to Buddha
  I love waterlilies
  I eat with chopsticks in blue Chinese dishes

I want someone
  who respects my silences
  who recognizes the mysteries within me
  who talks in poetry
  who feels blessed to have found me
  who brings me coffee in bed and kisses my toes
  whose ambition is my happiness
  who adores me and lets me return it

I want someone who knows
  how to touch me
  how to talk to me
  how to drench me in tenderness
  and when to light which candles

I want to be loved
  Like only you knew how to love me
