Somber Forest Day
somber forest day
her fragile violet petals
adding some delight
fox came a’calling
with swish of his fluff tail
white violets bounced back
oaks whispered hello
using their windy voices
moss huddled in awe
pretty smooth pebbles
tiny creek flowed cautiously
a fawn wet her lips
somber forest day
shadows on fallen timber
snake slithers in leaves
