Solitude

I am cloaked in silence that Flows out from my solitude In all directions and fills The space around me. Its healing presence seeps Into my heart and mind, My deepest inner core. No sound of any kind, Not even the subtle humming Of the refrigerator, Interrupts my thoughts. No traffic noise, no telephone, No background music disturbs The calm that soothes my soul. I need this quiet time each day To reacquaint me with myself! The stresses of the my life, For now, are held at bay. In these few moments of renewal, This time of replenishment, I find the strength I need.
