Solitary Heart

Abandon me to sweet dreams
To the vast, open grasslands
Along cool river streams
That stretch to the ocean sands.
Winds from all four corners
Will gather in hopeless times
To sing for the mourners
A requiem and some rhymes.

Abandon me to false romances
To drown in these circumstances
And rob me of all my chances
Of a love that sings and dances.
Why do you leave what once was
For unnecessary solitude?
Take a moment; a pause
The poetry wil embrace us in its melancholic mood.
