Love my family, love spending time with them but sometimes yearning for a little time to myself!

SOLITARY CONFINEMENT As the door swings from both sides And the windows unvariably vibrate exercising, my right to be alone I furiously type, my muscles ache Coming in last would be a mistake exercising my write, “to be alone” Finding a clock in this place called home Hiding it in my secret wardrobe closet exercising my right to be alone Taking slow sips of coffee, t.v. drama, A solitary epitome of garden song exercising the writ of execution to be alone sounds like a plea of insanity i won’t wait for your answer shh... 7/2/2017

I Love this Kim. The older I get, the more quiet time I crave. Well crafted! -- Dean

Thanks, Elizabeth! Sometimes it is tough to find time to recover yet not wanting to push away what is truly important and may only last a short time. But oh, those quiet moments!

If all you've got for alone time is a wardrobe closet you need to demand a bigger room! About 300 sq. ft. should do it.

Maybe buy air mattresses? Put everyone in the living room; you keep all your living spaces(the t.v. and the computer, your bathroom, etc.) since you're the one paying the bills! Or you could put the air mattresses in the garage: say, "Gosh, kids, I love you, but that's all I've got"(while showing a concerned expression).

LOL! Sometimes I feel like I've been pushed into the closet. One time we had my daughter & fam stay with us for a year taking up two extra bedrooms. One day my other daughter comes over asks to lay down with sick child in our room. She was too sick to get up and we found ourselves sleeping in the family room (other grand was in the L.R.) Thought what's next the garage...lol! Yes crazy sometimes!
