Soliloquy To My Future Self

I often cower at the thought of conflict, and what grief it's brought - while you have courage to engage the fight for what is right. I frequently will fret and fear in dread at what might happen here - while your strong hope believes the future brings a bird that sings. I sometimes walk with head held high, a prideful, unrepentant guy - while you are humble as the silent b in subtlety. I tend to think I'm always right and walk illumined by the light - while you are kind, with grace to listen to each point of view. More courage, hope, humility, and grace I yearn to someday see etched on your visage when my race is run - when sets the sun. Written 16 Jan 2021

This is just a 'Wow' poem - I read it and thought 'wow' after every stanza! The first and last are, I think, the most stirring, makes me think of what my future self would think of me now! Looks like you got a win for this too, so congratulations as well~

Congratulation on your win. A wonderful story/write. Run the race until the end. Faith and fear cannot go together. I love your line, "More courage, hope, humility." We can always more of these. Enjoy your win/day with blessings...............

The whole world is a war zone, there is no escape, to go where? And why would we want to go there, for what is there but what we have here! I am not in a hurry for the sun to set, I must say, but as for courage, humility and grace, I think we have come to understand all this a lot more thanks to that awful unseen enemy. So well penned my friend. Blessings and hugs, Jennifer.
