Solidarity of Silence

Never speak up, just change
It’s your fault, never theirs
You don't need to talk, you’re never heard
Take accountability for once, say sorry.
Lashing out will never help you,
Just makes you look insane.
Don’t they understand that this comes from hurt?
Blinded by the win, it’s just about them.
They don’t see me as a human, just a thing to run down.
Finally sticking up for myself,
The shock in their eyes
It seems that they can’t handle the hurt they caused.
They’re the weak ones,
Disguised from all the talk.
I am the one who changes because of them.
I am the one that understands the ones who can’t speak.
Don’t you remember?
The people who are sweet are the ones that nobody lets feel seen.
We grow into empathy and have eyes beyond the reef.
We see how the world really is,
the ones that think we don’t understand reality
Is the reason why we feel hate and negativity.
Life is a challenge, a reality we understand
It’s the close ones that can show how cruel this world is.
Not a stranger, that’s what makes it hard to comprehend.
But I have to eat it up and play pretend?
Am I just too young to understand?
Why do I have to question my own character,
I do care for my well being, I do care about how I make others feel.
I care because I am human.
It taught me to love the ones that are too scared to take that leap,
Open your eyes!
You are free,
Detach yourself and speak up
Let your voice crack, feel those nerves!
Be there for you.
Observe and questions why
Why do I feel this way, what are they teaching me?
Change yourself,
Change into someone that knows their worth.
Change your voice.
If they want you to change then give them hell.
