Socks To Bed
He wears socks to bed because his feet are always cold
not a boy anymore but a young man with a child's face
So awkward the late teen years
are you hanging on or letting go
Between the edge of childhood into the burst of adulthood
you can never go back once you step forward
Is it so easy to leave things of a child
and embrace those of an man
So quickly they grow
Life is unforgiving
but rewarding
Awaken barefoot prince
wade into the shallow waters and lunge into her deep
You go back to childhood through your children
That's why grandparents love them so
