Society's Pomp

Often, people think themselves as objects like remodeled decor hyped for exhibition... they wear glittered masks and live in the affirmation of others through false pride, consumed by society's materialistic demands. I notice pretentious vogue glossed with aging skin : and when compelled to be like them— ballroom furniture and power- hungry clowns-- I awaken my inner child, lithesome and more excited at star-gazing than imitating worldly, rusted pomp. .................... You show up artificiality and materialistic demands for what they truly are, Nette! Society needs to take a good honest look at itself! ~ Congratulations on p.o.t.d. Hugs // paul

Love your thoughts, they seemingly echo mine and are delivered creatively and intelligently. I am absorbing the fact that just 5 minutes ago I finished my entry, went to post, and poof - contest filled and gone. I didn't make it, so now, as a Libra, I must decide to post or not to post sans contest! Will 'write' soon, I would not forget Nette ... Hugs, CayCay

Very true, Nette. An antidote to pretentiousness should be taken at least once a day. Barry.
