Socializing

   Socializing can be fun
   It's just not for everyone
Offering to volunteer in the service of others
   Wasn't for my mother
   Lost on what should be
   Not able to break free
   Of social niceties
   Press of social norms
   Wanted to belong
   Mother was a fine example
Of who I didn't want to be
   Yet looking ahead
Bits of her are pushing out
   The isolated existence
To bring the creative side out
The crabbiness when to many people about
   Not giving a hoot
   When pushing people out
   Socialization to get involved
   To stand out
Help people who would be without
