Social Media

Social media has transformed how people communicate and interact globally, fostering connectivity and collaboration~ Why is it we can’t honor, respect, or be kind without cruelty in the mix?—Poet

•	increases the fear of missing out
•	leads doubt and unhealthy comparisons
•	creates unrealistic expectations
•	causes isolation
•	triggers dopamine addiction
•	anxiety and low self-esteem

Don’t throw it all away~ Moderation is key!

Many do seem to be actually addicted to their various social medias. Moderation is always the key, recognizing that... and being honest about the degree needed, seems to be the most difficult for many. The various types of trolls would never acknowledge such though.

The title caught my attention. Great advice here. It can be overwhelming and confusing and addictive. For me, it helps fills a void. I'm often alone, and it makes me feel I'm part of the world. Thank you for visiting my page.

IA, I am hearing more and more about what all the new technology is causing with young people. I think parents need to set limits on the use of technology of all kinds and some adults need to set limits on themselves like maybe 2 hours a day only. Sara K

I have anxiety. So I never really used instagram or facebook. Last year, I started using instagram and oh boy! It was so overwhelming. People promoting silly trends and capitalism, over consumption. The worst part is brainrot. Moderation is key indeed. I'm glad you have written this very thoughtfully. Not to throw it all away, :)

Social media has both positive and negative impacts, with public opinion varying. In the US, a 2023 survey indicated 28% of adults believed social media was bad for society, while about a third thought it had a good impact according to Statista. A 2020 Pew Research Center study found that 64% of Americans felt social media had a mostly negative effect on the country. However, some research suggests social media can be beneficial for communication, networking, and information access.
