So You Have a Brain

So you have a brain with feelings of an almost human nature
said you.
The way things work, who cares, they just might work
or maybe they won't.
But come on man, you got a brain, what do ya think?
Your brain tells you that you got to take a piss, you got to go
open up the refrigerator because you need to eat.
You are going to need some beer or wine.
The brain says you are in love.
The brain says I only know three chords on the guitar,
but still I could be a rock start, if and only if, I could make
something out of only three chords, but I just can't.
The brain remembers all your faults.
The brain holds your memories, the narratives that
staid in your brain are kind of hard to forget.
It is a construct, like a poetic verse,
It might rhyme,
it sometimes does,
most times it won't.
And yet, you know what a rhyme
is without definition somehow
And your brain doesn't ask, is that
because English is the only language
it has because it was too lazy to want to
learn more.
Is this a poem, this thing about the brain
you have, or would you call it something
so far from a poem, so far out of bounds
of the art of poetry, that it makes you
think why did I spend all those years
in college studying arts and science,
your brain
what the heck
was it thinking
even a few seconds ago
