So Very Glad
Am glad I can sit back
and read those words
some that came from my deepest core
only flowing with pain and unimaginable hurt
and some that came from the skin on me
screaming due to the burning sun
wet from the heavy downpour
cooling from that salty sweat..
It's the looking back anniversary
like my whole life in a snapshot
life hidden in words
life naked from the words
i appreciate the writer in me
i appreciate the gift that brought back my pen
and the gift of the gift that revived my imprisoned passions
This memory lane is full of heroes
most of whom I will never meet
writers of words like mine, isn't poetry the most noble thing?
this beauty touches all the corners of the world
and brings the fruits of many cultures to adore
One day when I am a great grandmother
i went to sit back like am doing right now
with my great grandchildren and all
and listen to these words just the way they are
in their most raw, fearful, naive and careless form
i want to remember the taste of a twelve year old as I wrote my first poem
i want to feel the adventures of a new world of a teenage wild
i want to watch the confusing then the whipping then the calming storm of love
Ten years from now am sure this pen would be dancing to a different tune
the songs of the coming are also welcome
for they too would need a sit back. ...
