So Prayerful, So Powerful
Before the altar he kneels praying
His soul steams dollar desire
mixing with words of prayer
Sandals, Jesus-like in the feet
around neck, golden cross
cathedral built with martyrs’ bones
and he called unto the Lord;
“Holy, holy Lord of the world
listen to my prayers; and petitions
of your people I stand here for
Passports, visas, fat jobs, spouses
Give them Lord, money, honey
let them enjoy the world created
and when you call them, heaven
And your servant before you,
best vehicle, houses, plots, love
to help the poor and the needy
as you know a cook eats no bones
Take me to Rome, holy lands
so that the people I serve here
may know how much you love me”
