So Be It

I am wondering how it got this way, I don't know you now, unlike yesterday. A small piece of you I carry around, But in my ear you don't make a sound. There's your face, happy as can be, When I shut my eyes that's all I see. Regret has become a friend of mine, It's so apparently clear now I look behind. Not yet old enough to see past now, We'd had as much as we could allow. Each day comes and then passes by, It's hard to focus while wondering why. So here I sit drowning in you, Praying that there was something I could do. I simply refuse to make myself submit, If this is just what it is, then so be it.
