There was an eerie calm,
Like before a storm,
The Moon shone nil,
As the night stood still.
High in the canopies,
Not a bird did stir,
Low on the ground,
No Wolf to be found.
As time stood still,
Feeling was indescribable,
Not a blade of grass,
Had been disturbed by the past.
Then out of the blue,
Swooped a snowy white Owl,
Down upon its prey,
Where the mouse did lay.
With one fluid grip,
The Owl had taken him,
Back to the nest,
To feed the young in zest.
