Snowed In

snowed in
the cheese grits is bubblin'
the honey butter biscuits are a-risin'
the applewood bacon is a-sizzlin'
she takes charge of the three cheese scrambled eggs
i make the hot chocolate, and i did not forget her marshmallows

snowed in
i am starting the lightly sweetened sausage links
she takes care of the buttermilk waffles
butter pecan syrup for me
strawberry syrup for her
i put the cheese danishes and the cinnamon rolls in the oven
the icing is best when it is done with a woman's touch

snowed in
checking her out with strategic timing
i catch her notice checking herself and she quickly turns away with a smile
sighing heavily, i take in the perfectly blended aromas
she goes to the window and watches the snow continuing to fall
i do to the window where she is and hold her from behind
we still ourselves in the moment.....wondering what happened to us.....
