Snow Replay

Not Again! six inches on top of the snow we already had! This started out to be a blank verse sonnet, but it didn't turn out that way. The snow has smothered life tonight Our world now gleams in flawless white Below the earth, the bulbs’ low whine impatient with delay of time. Their voice is faint and fainter still the cry of birds in fluffed-up chill so hunger thinned in winter snap with hidden food beneath its wrap. Yet seed thrown out on top of snow and cooked with peanut butter, slow then shaped in cakes with honey glue has brought to us a checkered queue As daylight hails, we watch to see this comic scene of feathered spree.

Thanks for stopping by, Debbie. This one didn't last long like they do in the dead of winter, but melted off in just three days! Spring is definitely on its way. It's so good to live in an area where we experience all four seasons. Thanks for reading.

Your sad words cover the page like a winter blizzard, and yet the sun peeks through and fills the eye, with beauty and grace. Emile. #7

Thank you, Connie. Yes, I recently had local book signings (3) for my most recent book, "You Want Huspuppies With That?" which is a widely interpreted themed book about food and/or drink. I have five previous books, all published and bound locally. You can view all but the last one on my website: www.fayeadams.com - Faye is my middle name. Thanks for asking, Connie.

Thank you, JT, for the visit and for reading. The snow yesterday was beautiful, but now we have snow on snow, and it's March already. Come on, Spring! Have a great week.

Beautiful sonnet, Cona. You write with ease and easy familiarity with the form. Haven't tried this form , as this has strict adherence to meter and rhyme. You inspired me though. Smiles; D Kim

Thank you, Kim. Believe me, when I first tried writing sonnets, I was tearing my hair out in frustration, but I had an exacting instructor (online) who insisted that I get it right before it gained her approval. It was good for me, however, and taught me discipline. Have a beautiful day!
