Sniper Baby

Saw “The Sniper.” Marveled at The way it did reveal The brutal truth the soldiers faced And how it seemed so real. The bombed-out buildings, guns and tanks, The blood, the gore, the sweat – Each detail rendered perfectly, A work of genius – yet… The only scene that got it wrong Surprised me to no end, When actors with a new-born baby Struggled to pretend The doll that they were holding Was a living, breathing soul. I wonder how they managed To exert such self-control. The audience was not convinced; That “baby” looked so fake. Clint Eastwood, the director, Clearly made a huge mistake. Though all the war scenes were the most Realistic you can find, That phony stand-in baby doll Completely blew my mind.

"The bombed-out buildings, guns and tanks, The blood, the gore, the sweat – Each detail rendered perfectly, A work of genius – yet…" I have not seen the movie ilene. But from my perspective I must say this war is a creation of a genius an evil genius.

I an dying to go see that movie there is so much hype over it. I have noticed in movies, when ever there is a doll prop used in a scene actors don't do well acting as if it is real. Too bad Clint dropped the ball on this one. Your poem is wonderful Ilene. Perfect rhyme!

I enjoyed your write, Ilene. I haven't seen the movie either, but when (if) I do, I will certainly pay attention to that particular prop....

Great write, Ilene. I haven't seen the movie, but it's amazing how one thing can just detract from the main story...I also pay attention to details, and when I watch a movie...I LIVE IT. I'm not very to be with because if anyone talks and ruins a single moment of the movie...I'm fuming mad. ;) Hugs

I too have not seen this film, but from your well-crafted write I can make out the pros and cons of it; what a pity ruining a good film for something like this! Now I'll have to go and see the film!!:) // paul
