FIRST PLACE 

SNICKERDOODLES

Soft and chewy, comforting and sweet,
Nostalgic memory of grandma's cookie treat.
I loved these whimsical cookies made with love,
Cinnamon and sugar with a silly name, sort of.
Kindness baked into a dessert for a little girl,
Excited so much that I would swirl, twirl and whirl.
Rolled balls that became sugary delights,
Delicious and luscious bringing bites and bites.
Originated way back in time gran told me
Often, when I'd assist grandma to bake - making her tea.
Do you know that there is an ingredient-  quite secret ?
Little girls are not wise at keeping things top-secret !
Enjoyed this endearing, nonsense, playful dessert,
Snickerdoodles made me dance for gran in my ballet skirt.
