wall space empty
except for dead relatives
tv antenna flashes
bunny ears
upheaval of chests
Eyes stare

GRANDMA’S ROOSTER

crimson chair
360 degree spin
past and present mix
of snapshots
ceramic roosters
warm hands

              ~

ERASING THE PAST

Bandaid’s ripped off
Headshot lost to divorce
No comparisons left
Couple school photos
Magnetized on fridge

The last one stands in stark contrast, like a jolt back to the present, as if we were suddenly entering someone's 'reality', after the journey down memory lane. Amitiés Kim Rodrigues March 29, 2017 at 10:24 AM A sad image, after my daughter divorced her husband. Of course, i took his picture off. I then removed all photos. The ones I have now on the refrigerator are school pics. See, I went out if my way not to hurt the grandkids affected by the divorce. Nevertheless, it fits the theme of snapshots.
