Smile Vs Frown
Smile VS Frown

At opportune times,
when I've graced your face.
My counterpart has emerged,
to compete for space.
There's no other place,
in which either might go.
I'm thankful for the few times,
you've let me show.
My counterpart works hard,
in putting me down.
Telling my face why smile,
when it can frown.
Quickly adding, to smile,
causes lines about your face.
Surely an occasional frown,
is no disgrace.
More muscles are exercised,
to create a frown.
Many more than with a smile,
so don't put me down.
Though it takes every facial muscle,
that I've got.
I'll try to keep smiling,
for a health nut I'm not.
