Smile - 2nd Place

Smile makes the morning shine
And the bitter taste like sweet wine
The dim faces can turn to bright
When they see such sweet delight

A jolly face radiates the glow
Of hearts long caught in mounds of snow
Like a summer that brings the heat
To tame the sounds of a heartbeat

For even when there is hard rain
A sweet smile can take the pain
Of hearts that sank in depth of grief
It brings the feeling of warm relief

Even to cold hearts left to bleed
A smile plants a sturdy seed
Of faith and hope, of love and care
That makes the weather bright and fair

There is something in suffering that can eventually produce a smile…there is sweet with the bitter, planted seeds of faith and hope. Nice one, Roger!
