Small Thoughts

Feelin down in the dumps
Eatin potatoes wit lumps
Livin in Buffalo slumps
Wearing Reebok pumps

Seeing the bums on the streets
Lookin in dumpsters for eats
Carrying cardboards for sleeps
Askin for change to kept
Within our hearts we wept

Why can’t our people be strong
Why can’t our breaths be long
Why black money gotta be wrong
Why people still in depression
When God is givin us lessons
Aint no time for restin
Cause we gonna be tested

Why must we have small minds
And can not read between the lines
Being a customer at rent-way
When every week you have to pay
Wearing hand me down socks
Asking the land lord to change your locks
And those ghetto girls around your house they flock
Using television shows as your main clock.

When will our mind sets change?
And they stop looking at us strange
Hidin their money as we come closer in range
When will the people stop livin in the 60’s frame
Sayin that we aren’t tamed
And our excuses are lame
And we are ignorant they claim

Some people say they want out
Instead of workin they pout
Instead of talking they shout
Why we have to be so loud
Why can’t nobody be proud
Why can’t our minds be sound
Why can’t our purpose be found
Why can’t we have it all?
Is it because we think so small.

If we thought a little bigger
We will have 6 figures
If we invest our money right
We’ll have a much better sight
If we weren’t so greedy
There probably will be no needy
And everybody will be fed
These are the thoughts in head
And now my thoughts have been said
Small Thoughts.
