     “She was never late before,”

This is a real "humdinger" Carolyn.(wink wink). YOu are the limerick master with this fine write. The final line is a knee slapper! I really don't know how newspaper writers keep up with all the deadlines. Such a creative, demanding, and competitive field. All the way to the top! Gwendolen

LOL, very cute one, Carolyn! And thanks for the comment on "Eschew". I agree, different forms call for different types of language whih is why I chose haiku (sorta, lol) for "Eschew" I haven't done any long stuff recently, but did a good bit during my first stint on the Soup. An example is "PI" (Chant Royal) which just placed first in Debbie's contest... it's full of articles, conjunctions, pronouns and other common words, but I did take it easy on the gerunds, lol. Happy day!~N
