Sleepless Nights - Limerick Insomnia Revisited 

Limericks are so hard to write.
Sometimes, keep me up half the night
Spending way too much time
Just trying to rhyme
A word that’s just out of sight.

I have never attempted to write a limerick, yet. But, I surely understand the difficulties of writing with rhyme!.... I have a poem titled "Poetry After Midnight", which I haven't posted here, yet, that is very similar to this....Thank you for your nice comments on my poem "Write This Way". It really means a lot!

I do this all the time........lie in bed, and over and over, try to find the "right" rhyme for my poem.....can't sleep until I have it !! LOL !!

This is probably the first time I'm reading a limerick...honestly I had no inkling about this form of poetry, to a layman like me it looks more like a rhyme!! Gosh, there's so much to learn!

My friend, you are no more uncertain in the art of poetry writing than I was when I began..... When I see something interesting I usually click on the form button and it tells me the rules of writing in that form... I admire your eager spirit.... Jake

Got a chuckle..Great job writing this one..I hope that you did not loose any sleep writing it for it seems like it would have been just a snap that is the way it reads when you posted the finished work..Thanks for stopping by..We haven't had any really bad storms this round but lots of clouds which finally brought some rain then we had a thunderstorm last night but all in all it was not too bad here at our home..Sara

Jake ,You make it look easy, although Limericks are difficult, I just posted one. (The Sneeze) They have to have humor and wit. and the right syllable count. Very taxing on the brain :)
