Sleepless Infinitian

I can’t let my eyes close this night
Now and then I try so hard
Sleep waits for me in vain
On a couch I lay
Morn will come soon
No sleep comes

Sounds like your mind is working on overdrive. Hope you get the rest you need. Another great use of personification.

Hi Connie: Thanks for your comment. I know a few people who have been afflicted with insomnia and can be debilitating.

Insomnia makes a zombie out of you. I can also relate. I have suffered from it for most of my life, but a year ago my husband got pycnogenol pills for me and after taking them for a few weeks I have never been bothered with insomnia any longer. It is a safe dietary supplement. So if you suffer from insomnia check it out. I thought your poem relatable to so many. Great entry for the contest Ralph!

Hello Ralph, This one with "INSOMNIA" aptly sums up what happens to some of us who are obsessive writing junkies. I'm guilty!! Great write. Cheers, Gary
