Sleepless In London

A night wasted in sorrow's sigh
A love that is no more
The morning’s cry-
A long full heart
To hope upon a star.

A love so blind,
Nothing is recognized,
Not even the face of time.
Distance between feels as eternity,
Though only a few hundred miles.

And yet
The turning tide engulfs the shore,
As night wears on a moment more.

The sadness of lost love, so compelling in this poem. I love that last line...as night wears on a moment more. Well done. ~ Carrie
