Sleepless
Sleepless in the grasp of night
The dream of day now gone from sight
Dark engulfs both sight and sound
The night world now alive abounds
A ray of light pierces the air
The moon reflects the suns harsh glare
And peering down through inky sky
Pinholes of stars now greet the eye
Streetlights stand like sentries old
To guard the streets for few, the bold
Who venture out into the place
That most of us will rarely taste
The night world with it's creatures fair
That roam the now still quiet air
The last to see the dying day
The first to welcome the new to stay
While distant lands in sun abide
In grip of dark here now we slide
And lie in bed until the time
The day returns and light we find
