Sleeping Boy

Sleeping boy As he rests on my chest In quiet slumber, he peacefully rests Grips on my finger A smile perched on his lips With thoughts of angels Somewhere, giving him a kiss Bearer of light That’s what he’ll be Sweet, caring, benevolent Is what I’ll teach him to be So, for now, sleeping boy As you rest on my chest An angel face, That makes my heart smile with just a gaze This world is yours to see Never let anyone dim your light Or overshadow all that you can be You’re meant to do great things All the things I wish to live to see.

I am optimistic when I read this for the angels and the mothers love their children too much to let fear rule the world. A sweet reminder of what is real.
