Sleep Parody

**Open your hymn books to "It is Well With My Soul" for this parody!

When sleep, like a baby, enters my mind,
When daydreams like movie scenes blur;
Whatever I do, you demand that I rest,
It is time, it is time to shut my eyes.

It is time, it is time,
It is time, it is time,
It is time, it is time, to shut my eyes.

My bed, oh the bliss of this most cozy spot!
My bed, the pillow and the sheets,
Is nested in my room, and I need to crawl inside,
Rest my head, rest my body oh my sleep.

It is time, it is time,
It is time, it is time,
It is time, it is time, to shut my eyes!

Ahh!! I wonder if you get in that bed then sleep evades you. I enjoyed reading your work. Yes, I think it could be sung to the hymn, "It Is Well With My Soul".. Thanks for the visit to my page.Sara

That happens sometimes, and other times I don't really have a responsible bedtime. OTC sleepy medicine helps.

I was very tired when I came up with that parody, because it was late! I don't claim to have a responsible bedtime! Thanks for the comment.

Thank you! I wrote this just before going to bed and yes, I was really tired when this song just came to me!
