Slave Auctions, Alive and Well In a North Carolina School

A K-8 school, J.S. Waters, was roundly chastised today
Its students held a 'mock' slave auction
This happened in March, in North Carolina, in the year 2022
White students sold black students as slaves, and used the n-word too

One boy went for $350, later he was clubbed with a baseball bat
So, if you roll your eyes over 'Racism?' --in the USA?
~ You ought to think long and hard about that

Fire the principal, the teachers involved, expel the white participants too
Throw the book at the adults, and at those white kids too
Make an example of these horrid beasts, so this NEVER happens again...
We dare not wonder why Civil War wounds have yet to mend

Oh, Dear. How can young people have so much anger and hate in their hearts? School days should be happy days for all who attend. They are supposed to be there to be educated not segregated.

Close down those schools if they don’t know how to be with children. Best they were at home with their parents.

Hi! Gershon: This is shocking to hear this, after everything this country has been through these past 12 years. I'm surprised there weren't riots in the streets. I agree that the principal and teacher involved need to be fired. Blessings ~ Debra

Oh, for goodness sakes. I hadn't heard about this. I'll have to investigate. This sort of thing should never happen... NEVER, I say. What in the world were they thinking??? Clearly, they were not thinking!

Yup. Unbelievable, even 7 years ago. Now - not so much. Things have polarized around race in this country in a way I can't remember since my childhood in the 1950's, when segregation ruled the land. ~ gw

Exactly, all about the children... all for the children... just giving them a dose of reality... I hear they're planning to cook Jews in ovens in N. Carolina for a 'Taste of Auschwitz.' (Think I'm out of my mind?! Neo-Naziism is back and thriving on the dark Internet.) Beware, gw

This is TRUE? What? Oh my gosh! WHAT?

This is not only true; slave auctions were heretofore accepted as 'normal' by the kid whose mom blew the whistle. No thanks to Mr. Obama, Mr. Trump, and now Mr. Biden, we are once again a nation of racial intolerance. Boo!

No shame, not in 'redneck country' in the USA, which covers a good swath of the South and Southwest, and the lower Midwest. As a Jew who 'wears the garb' -- think Golders Green, London -- I would never travel to those areas until the 1990's when things loosened up a bit. But no thanks to Obama's, Trump's, and now Biden's whining divisiveness, racial tolerance has given way to increased enmity again. A shame, as you say!

Shocking! We didn’t get this news in India. Mere expelling won’t do though … a stronger signal is needed

Yes, indeed. The firing squad is too good for these kind of 'people!' Thanks, Seeker.
