Skipping Chritsmas

Skipping Christmas, Always seems like a good idea at the time, When you are standing in line, To buy some twine, And you have yet to dine, While expecting a parking fine, If your car has not already been sold online. The trouble is once you are in a line, Anywhere close to Christmas time, A sale sign, Will pull you back into line, And skipping Christmas will definitely not happen this time.

'will pull you back in line' never a truer word. l stopped celebrating Christmas over 40 years ago, it wasnt easy at the time and it does 'pull' for a short time but, like coming off an addiction, it stops. l love how poetry makes us stop and think about things, thank you for sharing David. J

Our family has focused on the family's and sharing at Christmas. I make the Pavlovas and our eldest daughter and I make fudge. I also Christmas shop at Charity shops. Some of the stuff is brand new. Stay safe this holiday season and thanks for feedback on this poem as it took a different tact than some of poems around Christmas. Best regards David
