Six-Word Couplet Series Encore

Itchy Palms
Gold that shone
Is now gone

Yellow at heart
By fear stricken
Acts the chicken

Roadrunner
Have the ability
To show agility

Dream Catcher
I was told
To be bold

The Grim Reaper
Without a face
Dictates the pace

Let sleeping dogs lie
I slept instead
Beside the bed

I agree with your note down here. The charlieku is a form in itself. And this one here gives us great latitude compared to footles. I was thinking there should be another form which would allow 2-5 words per couplet line. It could be as short as footle but a bit longer than a six word couplet. I think it would allow us to get into our poems all those ideas that just can't be stated with three words all the time!

Pleased to see that we are on the same wavelength, Andrea:) Yours is also a valid suggestion. Have a lovely weekend. // paul

You are really good at these. This form and charlieku are two of my favorite new forms!!

Thank you, Andrea. I agree with you...this form is an extension of the footle. The charlieku needs to be a form on its own, unassociated with haiku. Regards // paul

What instead denied your bed? Just kidding - I really liked that one and laughed aloud at the poor stricken chicken which didn't help her state at all. These are all clever. Good luck in the contest and all else, all the time. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
