That must have been quite the overzealous bird! This is a really interesting image for a haiku. You mention spring which typically symbolizes rebirth and childhood, but at the same you talk about death and crows feasting on carcasses! Makes me think that the end can come at any time... even in the springtime of ones life. Keep on writing Sara! I love me some thought provoking haiku :)

I can certainly picture this as when I lived in Texas the road kill got hot quickly and the Buzzards loved to feast on a hot meal, so I imagine! Kinda like how we like to eat a cooked meal, maybe they'll enjoy a good hot one too...actually they will eat anything at any temperature, ha ha! But they do enjoy a good hot one too, if it's fresh! Your poem is exquisite, a very awesome piece my friend! I enjoyed reading this enlightening write this evening! What a wonderful poem, Great Work!!
