Sisters

In a quiet warmth, we sit
exchanging memory mirrors
Seeing life the way the other saw it
with the same two parents
Why we traveled different paths,
Why our strengths are interlaced
Why I yearn for moon lit nights
and you prefer the sun.
At half past one we sleep
Breathing one breath rhythm night
Dreaming life would take a step back
and dance it's steps again
Why we struggle for independence,
Why we struggle amongst ourselves
Why I reach to find your hand
and you hold tight in sleep...
