Singleness
Are you seeking and searching for someone
Whose affection and devotion you’ve won?
Do you long for someone you call, “Sweetheart”?
The answer to your anxious, aching heart
You have waited and waited for so long
For someone to sing to you his love song
The song remained unsung, lonesome you grew
Is the loud silence deafening to you?
Are your disappointments and frustrations
Compounded by arduous expectations?
Do some scorn you for your single status?
They say, “Hah! She is alone, not like us!”
You’re not alone; I’ve felt loneliness too
We’re not alone; Christ felt loneliness too
The gracious King who left His glorious throne
In the Garden, He prayed and wept alone
His glorious throne, He exchanged for the cross
He suffered and died, to redeem the lost
Reconciled us to God; we’re not alone
We’re friends of God; our names carved on white stones
The Bride waits patiently for her Bridegroom
To renew this earth from pain, grief and gloom
The Church waits for the wedding of the Lamb
Her union with her dear Beloved ‘I Am’
Are you seeking and searching for Someone
Who loves you despite the bad deeds you’ve done?
Do you long for Someone you call, “Saviour”?
Jesus Christ is the answer to your prayer
