Singing the Blues

From his pulpit the parson railed 'gainst booze For some in his pews this wasn't good news For so many, you see Bootlegged on the qui vive They all harmonized in singing the blues

This is funny and clever - but i'm sure with one glass of wine or a bottle of beer they would sing far better in harmony. This poem brings an image to mind of bootleggers and parson screaming shouting and singing, who was the loudest I wonder - great limerick John, a fave. Hugs and blessings Jen.

Too cute Robert, Also too true. Some people do raise Cain on Saturday night and then go to church on Sunday and think they are being good Christians. A good write. my friend. God Bless, JB

Hard to hear the rail against hard liquor. The boys are singing the blues until their next chug.

Yep, Kim: I'm not sure who outshouted each other, the preacher or the bootleggers! Thanks for dropping by - Bob H
