Sing Me That Song Premiere Contest Winner

Sing me that song of compelling phrase, Make me long to dance to your croon With halting rhythms of a distant place. I shall look longingly into your face, Lost in the music, we shall commune Sing me that song of compelling phrase. I miss the warmth of your embrace, Your body swaying ‘neath the moon With halting rhythms of a distant place. Those special times I’ll remember always Though, it seems, you left me too soon, Sing me that song of compelling phrase. Love like ours filled with sensual grace Has kept me anticipating your swoon, With halting rhythms of a distant place. I know it is not merely a passing craze A dreamlike fantasy or a foolish tune, Sing me that song of compelling phrase With halting rhythms of a distant place.

I see you at the organ playing a solemn, graceful air, rapt in reminiscence of a love now absent. (I recall you play the organ) ;) ~Anaya

"With halting rhythms of a distant place" is evocatively romantic, L M. This piece has a very "dreamlike fantasy" quality about it. Excellent writing.

It reminds me of Coleridge's observation that the most intimate feelings are also the most universally understood. Moving

We seem to be thinking about the moon lately. She's such a wonderful gem to use as impetus for poetry. This one is a shade of blue called 'Melancholy.'
