Since I Met You

Since we met, I knew no one else would do.
At the start I felt I finally found a love so true.
I fell for you 'cause you recognized my soul.
Over time I realized with you I feel whole.

Memories we make, I will never ever forget.
You make me want to live without any regret.
You told me you want to make me better,
But that is something only I can master.

Your soul has a sort of power over mine.
Our love, to me, feels as though it is divine.
You have a way of recentering my mind,
Through your calm disposition that's so kind.

As you shared stories, I saw our similarity.
As I opened up, you felt a vague familiarity.
Though I prefer talking, I enjoy appreciating
Our comfortable silence while we're relaxing.

I was just needing someone to believe in me.
You are whom relieves and makes me free.
You were needing someone more honest:
True to one's heart; well, I'm also so earnest.

Ever since we met, I felt desire and devotion.
I recognized your inner self with my intuition.
I admire and adore everything about you.
I dream, imagine parallel worlds of us, too.

I know our love is real, because it's all I feel.
When I think of you, like a fangirl, I squeal.
I realized all my love poems I have written
Were foretelling: with you, I'll be smitten.

I long for you still, even though you are mine.
I hope my poems serve as the biggest sign:
That you and I were always meant to unite,
For we know how to make each other alright.
