Simple Pleasures
Solemn spirits oft seek it in prayer
Travelers find it with their ears open to the ocean
Devils rush to try things others not dare
But some bodies just enjoy home, sweet home minus the commotion
For some it's nightly conversation with a wordy book
Children find it in the pages of which they like to color
Others feel buon appetito simply when they cook
And everyone smiles at Grandma's card, knowing they're about to get five dollars
Many count their blessings with their four-legged friends
We've all found happiness making angels in the snow
Some write lone wolf by just the might of their pens
But when it comes to alone in the car, we're all members of the band playing on the radio
All these things are just simple pleasures
In a complex game with moments so hard you may wish it to end and fall apart,
And although at times you'll feel forgotten under those hardened weights and measures
Do your best to remember the simpler times, and you'll find it easier to get back to the start
