Simba

As I sit here penning this little ditty, My desk is full of sprawling kitty! He's a dear old inscrutable friend of mine. I pray he has many more lives than nine! He's just an ordinary striped ginger cat, So playful, independent and fat. His lack of noble lineage doesn't bother me, And I doubt he's concerned about pedigree! O'er the years he's given me so much pleasure. (Never mind that he's mutilated some treasure!) What an elegant and enchanting pet. I haven't found his equal yet! He doesn't ask all that much of me. Just some grub and affection periodically. I scratch his ears and stroke his fur smooth. He in turn provides soft purring to soothe! Maybe there are more exotic pets than a cat, And I will most certainly grant you that. But when it comes to the bottom line, No more noble creature did God design!

Hear, hear, from a fellow felinophile. Just a few minute's stroking is enough to put both into a Catatonic trance. Well done in the contest, Robert. Purrfect. Regards, Viv

I think yours outshines mine here. both the poem AND your cat. haha. When I brought Delilah home she was very calm BUT when OTHERS come into the house, she is one of those scurrying cats . In fact, both my cats hide from strangers. We call them Skittles becuase they skittle away!

Read at home during this evening's dinner....a purrrrrrrrfect desert in Simba! Kids and spouse love kitty cats as our 12 wk kitten is learning the behavior of our Bishon and imitating it so well....Officially now, how many feline poems have you written? Curious bc you may be at a point to publish a mini kitty poetry book. Have a great weekend. Glad you are NOT on the eastern seaboard. Gwendolen
