Silver Jubilee

Celtic courtship ended nineteen eighty-two. Marriage nuptials blended "us" from me and you. Seaside lovers heading to the Irish Sea showcase Christmas wedding, silver jubilee. Touring without hassle - Isle of Man’s ferry, Dublin, Blarney Castle, Cobh Cork, and Kerry. Guinness, china, mincemeat pricey souvenirs; homespun sweaters compete lamb’s wool profiteers. written February 19, 2018 contest: 88 syllables hosted by Joseph May

I simply love this tribute to your Silver Jubilee, being mostly Irish, especially since St. Patrick's Day is so near. Congratulations on your well deserved First Placement Reason! This is going into my Faves! Cheers, Connie : )

Expertly crafted. I can feel Ireland and the "Irish experience" coursing through each line, as you guide me around the Emerald Isle. Thank you for the trip and the tour! Best wishes, Gershon

I'm not familiar with these specs as a poetry form, it was a challenge I enjoyed trying. Thanks for the read and comment. Heard a lot of Irish stories and songs thru the years.

You wrote this expertly given the constraints. Having been to Ireland, I can so relate to your scenic imagery. Love that Guinness..they seem to know how to pour it well..the soda bread and stew! Well done RAP..a winning poem!

Ah, yes, the Irish stew/soda bread I couldn't work them into the short piece, along with many other memories of my visit. Thanks so much for the time and energy put into your comment.

deserves highest score in my humble view ... the professional movement in the prescribed framework of 88 syllables is not an easy task ...

Oh that you were the host. I appreciate your comment very much, Probir. I love the challenge of an assignment like this, guess it must be the former teacher still in me.

Irish in genealogy only. Made a visit in 2010, spending almost a week touring various sites. Thanks for asking.

Thank you for commenting. I think St. Patrick would agree; couldn't work him into this brevity piece
