Silly Billy - Nursery Rhyme

Silly Billy went and ate
all the cookies his mom baked.
Getting too sick was his fate
for his tummy ached and ached.

You might think this silly guy
would have learned his lesson, right?
When his mother made a pie,
it then disappeared from sight.

Billy, like a big fat hog -
He had gobbled it all down!
He got sicker than a dog.
Mention pies, and still he’ll frown.

This reminded me of me; my eyes are bigger then my tummy. Congratulations on your win, Andrea! Singing nursery rhymes and songs to children as young as babies can help develop their language and communication skills from an early age. Goats never seem to learn. Were I in his shoes I’d probably do the same (gotta have that pie!). Good luck in the contest.

Whoa!! I know that was some bad experiences for Billy but he enjoyed it going down but I guess the illness helped him in the future from overdoing it again. He learned his lesson. Smart boy. Thanks for dropping by. I appreciate your comment on my work about plums. I like salt on them but have to be careful as to not eat too much salt. Sara

Hi Andrea, This reminded of my childhood days when I ate too much and got a tummy ache. Good nursery poem. So fitting for the age group. Best wishes in the contest. Have a wonderful evening:-) Alexis

Eve has this new contest, Jan. I hope I did not subconsciously use any of your lines if you posted tummy ache poems in the past. I seem to recall now that you did! I had a fun picture here too but I do not not if we are permitted to use stock pictures or not!!
