Silk roses stitched upon my linen pillow case
lace curtains parting, showing an aging moonlight still
A candle burns low atop my wood table
inviting me into a world of fantasied able
Hunger subsides at sundown as a gown of light appears
no I am not afraid of the mystical force of night;
Facelifted to the stars, I shine
like a metal compass turning by design
I am an old tattered bible reading to someone
in a home with no spaces or time;
Surreal as heaven this corporeality of make believe, all mine
I'm a light at the window a prayer on the heart,
remembering the warrior I once was, raised by magic
I turn to dusk and become a periwinkle shade of night
silk roses crease my pillow,
I'm more then ready, for this flight.
