Notes About The Poem

Silhouette of Shiva

Falcate glistening moon tonight, upon the starry sky shines bright, the satin smooth milky moonlight, flowing through Himalayan heights, silhouette of Shiva in sight, a time to pray in god’s own light, heart is calm within and quiet, crescent moon’s divine bright midnight.

A short but brilliant poem on the moon. I cannot detect the oxymoron though. Perhaps it is the inclusion of Shiva, a religion I know nothing about. Still I loved your poem and hope for a high placing.

Shiva is the ultimate power. Sanatan (eternal) dharma(religion), known to the world as Hinduism, is the most ancient religion in the world, even before the Abrahamic religions came into existence. Shiva is the universe, he accepts all the things/ beings, not loved or shunned by the world. I don't know whether this poem fits the contest or not, but it is a dedication to my God and that is sufficient for me.
