Silhouette

At first you were a shadow in the dark where shadows never lurk, but there you were, a bah relief of black on black, an arc cast by the beating of a heart that stirs from fonts of hope eternal, as a lark trills in the daylight when my senses purr and keep on swooning when the lapis grows to wed an onyx mate in true love's throes. But then your shadow moved across my gaze to take my breath and throw it to the night just as my heart leapt in an endless maze of crimson thoughts and nuptial jitters white until you kissed my lips in breezeful phrase and disappeared in coming silver light. When I awoke before a dawn unseen I wept for my zephyrous shadow queen. 4th Place Silhouette Contest Sponsor: Craig Cornish 9/9/17

Full of thoughts that tease the imagination Dale. Wonderful use of enjambment. The rhyme is not at all forced and used to enhance and not distract. Impressive writing
