Silently You Watch

Silently you watch me suffer
My cries for help unanswered
I thrash about in my pain
Driven insane by….
The Silence
“She will survive.
She will rise.”
You comfort yourself with these words
Sure that you will not be summoned
To attend a funeral

Ah, there is truth in that
You WILL not be summoned
For there are no attendees
At the funeral
Of a soul
A heart
A dream
Of Love
…….Silence……

The thrashing and moaning lessen
Time passes
The silence... d
                    e
                      e
                    p
                     e
                    n
                       s

You breathe a sigh of relief
It is over
And yet
The silence is broken
Something keeps playing in your mind
Music
       Notes
              Sorrowful wailing sounds
You cannot block out
It is the requiem
A dirge for my dead heart

Thoughts resurrect
A love still burns
Finally…
You come to search
To find
To verify...

S....i....l....e....n...c....e

Dead hearts don’t speak

You missed the funeral
And the burial
Now….
Do not disturb
My resting place
Yes, stand there
Stand still
With bowed head
Listen…..listen to the silence
A silence matching
The silence
Of your own dead heart
Listen....Listen to

  THE SILENCE

The way you play with words here, is tantalising. Spacing out my reading, the emphasis. Love the look and the read of this poem. Sorry to hear where you were at when you wrote it.

Ok, I know I've been away a while but there's no need to be so morbid about it lol. You certainly have a way of telling it my little Desert Orchid and you say it in BIG letters. Take care, Richard

wow, you told HIM. I just love how you finished with Silence in BIG letters as it were Yelled at him. This is a great metaphor for dead love. Awesome.

Keep writing, keep speaking, keep expressing your emotions. These feelings will pass and when they do you can step out into the light and shine....Hugs Tim

I am at a loss Eileen. The mood has not changed much these past few days. The fight within just won't abate. I believe that it's not words of consolation that you want, but your own strength and resolve...that is what will pull you through. I will not urge you to rise; I will instead urge you to believe. // hugs // paul

Paul....no, the mood hasn't changed much. Some things in life cannot be changed...no matter what. You must accept.....the confines of your reality. It will pass...with time. I go through these spells now and again. My friends know...I need to hibernate for a while, and then I'll be back out of my shell. Life is not always a bed of roses, is it? Sometimes we need to see what others go through...to appreciate...the light. Thank you for the kind visit.

This makes me sad, I direct you back to hands of light. Let them lift you. Hugs Rick. The poem itself is brilliantly expressed, I just don't like the way it makes me feel.

Thank you, Richard...Those hands of light sometimes need human hands to lift....a human voice to speak...a human heart to understand. He works through people....as the song goes..."We are his hands...to touch the world around us." He works through people. Thank you for your words on my work. Much appreciated. Sorry it made you feel pain...friends carry each other's pain, right?

"Silence is the death of love!" William Shakespeare! My dear Eileen, we suffer in the degree we do not accept reality! Stop suffering! Get up! Go ahead! Live and Love again!
